What is Quality Score?
According to Google, Quality Score is a measure of how relevant your ads, keywords, and landing page are to a person seeing your ad. Quality Score is calculated every time someone does a search that triggers your ad, and ranges from a scale of 1 to 10. To view the Quality Score of a particular keyword in your AdWords campaign, click on the speech bubble in the corresponding "Status" column

Quality Score directly affects both your ad's position and your keyword's CPC. Basically, when you achieve a strong Quality Score, your ad appears higher and your CPC drops.
