About Larry Lim

Larry Lim is a Civil Engineer by training and holds a bachelors degree from NTU, Singapore. He used to work as Product Development/Marketing for various IT and Telecommunication services at Keppel T&T, prior to becoming an SEO consultant. Currently based in Malaysia, here are some of his key achievements:


+ Created first website in 2005. Traffic grew from 0 to 12,000 monthly visitors in 2 months and the website was sold for S$10,000.


+ Wrote an e-book on turnkey websites, SEO and affiliate programs. Sold more than 100 copies in 10 days.

+ Created YouTube downloader site and grew traffic from 0 to over 25,000 monthly visitors in 2 months. Website was mentioned on PC Mag editor's blog, Computer Times Singapore and various publications around the world.


+ First SEO client - a Singapore-based palm oil information company from Latvia. Achieved top 3 rankings for palm oil keywords on global search engines, doubled site traffic to 70,000 visitors and tripled revenues in 3 months.

+ Spoke at CMO 2007 (M'sia) alongside Yahoo's Head of Marketing for SEA, Nokia’s Marketing Director for APAC, etc. Was later engaged by one of the attendees, TM's Asst. GM, to drive their internal marketing workshop. More speaking invitations came for workshops and events like SMX Singapore and Ad:Tech Singapore.

+ Engaged by SPH to optimize classifieds portal, ST701.com. Achieved top 10 rankings for keywords like jobs, property, classifieds and cars. Was later engaged by iProperty.com, Australian-listed and Asia's biggest property classifieds, for similar job. The website now ranks #1 out of 600 million results for property on Google Singapore.

+ Engaged by top global independent PR agency, Edelman, for Online Reputation Management using SEO.

+ Took over a Windows Vista support forum and grew its membership 15x to 30,000 members and site traffic to 400,000 visitors/mth. Acknowledged by Microsoft, the site was sold to U.S. media company, iEntry, in 2007.

+ Interviewed by Frost & Sullivan for their research paper on Asia's Online Advertising market in 2008.

+ Engaged for SEO by South-east Asia's biggest education and stationary retailer, Popular.

+ Wrote about Search Engine Marketing for several issues of Marketing Magazine (Malaysia).


+ Engaged for Adwords and SEO by a top dermatologist - arguably, the most competitive industry in Singapore. Significantly reduced previous year's Adwords spend of S$180,000 to under S$60,000, and achieved top 3 rankings for keywords like dermatologist and skin specialist, which cost up to S$6/click.

+ Noticed by the Adwords team in Singapore and was assigned a Google Agency Manager.

+ Engaged by P1 Malaysia, arguably the world's most successful next-gen WiMAX operator, for Adwords services.
(Note: if imitation is indeed the best form of flattery, then I'm proud that my Adwords strategy was copied by a "yellow" telco, often credited for their creative marketing - wink!).
