Good God, I can’t believe we’re almost at the end of 2009 - time really flies! The last 2 months were pretty hectic for me, where I spent quite a bit of time and attention to help Locus-T prep their SEO and Google Adwords services. But I’m glad that things are moving quickly - we’ve recruited a handful of new staff, registered a company in Singapore, got an office and even managed to get the guys from Google to conduct some training. I also did lots of personal travels this year - part of my new “reward thyself” philospohy. The highlight was certainly the European holiday in October. I took it slower this time and only went to 5 cities in the 2 1/2 weeks - Stockholm, Barcelona, Amsterdam, and of course, London and Paris. Things have certainly changed a lot from when I last visited 10 years ago. Despite telling myself not to take on any new clients this year, I did take in one in November. Well, actually he’s an old client and friend, who wants a fresh search marketing campaign because of the growing business. Oh well, I don’t mind the extra cash though, considering the excessive spending this year. :) So what did I miss after being away for so long? Well, I found a lot of spam comments on my blog that needed deleting, but also some genuine ones - sorry for the late reply, guys. My old article on the Singapore Petrol Ban came alive again after the Malaysian government imposed a 20L limit for foreign cars …as usual, they changed their minds at the eleventh hour and made an exception for Singapore cars. I also got an email informing me that my website rankings had dropped for Malaysia “seo” related keywords. To be honest, larrylim.net was never optimized for Malaysia because I’d set it to target Singapore in Webmaster Tools. Still, I thought it was a good idea since we ARE going to be hitting Malaysia with SEO services next year. So I added a new sub-domain and created a local minisite, Malaysia SEO Consultant. It’s a pretty simple website this time and only took me 1 day to complete. Let’s see how the site does in a month’s time. On that same note, my slightly bigger Dermatologist website is now ranked #2 out of 5.5 million results for the generic keyword “dermatologist” on google.com.sg. Not bad, because that keyword is quite competitive and worth about S$5/click on Adwords!
