Viral Marketing And LinkDump Traffic
Viral marketing or word-of-mouth marketing is a very powerful website promotion method. The idea is simple - get word out about your website, provide something (content, gifts, etc.) attractive and let your visitors spread the word for you.
But how do you get the word out?
If your website appeals to the general audience, you can promote it at linkdumps ...although it may not always be the most ethical method. Linkdumps are usually entertainment/humor sites and social bookmarks, and can be a huge source of traffic if your link gets featured.
One of my websites slowed down to a halt when it got to the front page of Digg.com and drew a huge spike in traffic. Viral marketing (a.k.a word-of-mouth) kicks in after and I received a good number of natural inbound links.
