I believe this deserves a special discussion - is the why-nuffnang-will-fail blog a fraud? Harry Lee or Leong Goh Meng or whatever other aliases he uses, has conspicuously deleted all 5 of his comments from my post about Why Nuffnang Will NOT Fail. Why? Was it because he couldn’t take the heat anymore? For those who missed this morning’s discussion: 1) Harry suggested that the $1 admin fee be absorbed by NN since it grows linearly with their revenues. But when asked why he did not mention the lowering of the minimum withdrawal limit and whether that would cause a “non-linear” bump, he avoided the argument. 2) He continued accusing me of being biased when I pointed out both the pros and cons, whereas, he only posted or linked to all the bad press. This prompted Rachel to question why he was so bent on a smear campaign about Nuffnang, of which he didn’t answer …naturally. 3) When told that he should be open-minded and meet Ming directly if he has doubts, he chose to remain anonymous instead and to continue blogging based on assumptions - something I was accused of in the first place. This is like a casino where the banker decides the rules huh? Of course, there was all the long but pointless comments that looked like it was copied from textbooks. Who is this mystery person anyway? Why does he spend so much effort in victimizing others? Why does he chooses to censor the good press and only put up negative ones? Why is he hiding in anonymity? What else is he hiding? It remains an enigma… But I’m glad that the once cloudy sky is clearing up and discussions are turning more reasonable, rather than emotional. Good luck to Advertlets, Nuffnang and Blog2u! Regardless of the outcome, you will have indirectly contributed to developing the online marketing landscape in Singapore. ========================================================= Since Harry has launched a personal attack against me, I’ve taken a keener interest about him, and more and more I find that he is nothing but someone bent on a smear campaign at all costs. Update 7: it must be very lonely for Harry to be the lone voice against Nuffnang (although he’d like you to believe otherwise). After 2 months of blogging, he has only 1 member in his MyBlogLog community …and that is none other than Josh Lim of Advertlets (see screenshot). Update 6: for those who still don’t get it, this was supposed to be a harmless prank (see Update 1) and Harry’s aware of it - obviously, he didn’t hack into my server. But my questions about his agenda, negative bias, anonymity, lack of proof, etc. remains. I just think that if you have a genuine intention to help, then propose solutions instead of complaining all the time. There has also been concerns of plagiarism, where Harry has refused to remove “borrowed” content despite demands from the original authors. Update 5: Harry is now claiming that I’m Nuffnang’s PR person …without proof as usual. I supposed all his other conclusions about Nuffnang were arrived in the same manner. He has also reproduced my photo on his why-nuffnang-will-fail blog without written permission - a blatant act of copyright infringement. Should I sue him for defamation and infringement in a tit-for-tat? I don’t think so. I prefer not to waste my time because as far as I’m concerned, he has no more credibility left. Update 4: in the latest turn of events, Harry has admitted to deleting and disallowing anonymous comments. This is an about turn from his earlier claims of practising free speech and open discussion. What other promises are you going to back out of next? Update 3: did you notice the blogger’s choice award badge proudly displayed on Harry Lee’s site? - “This blog was nominated for Best Entertainment blog”. Is that what the why-nuffnang-will-fail blog about? An entertainment site and nothing more? What’s more disturbing is that if you click to the details page, you’ll notice that it was nominated by “leongleongsam” - the same handle Harry uses on Ping.sg. Hmm…. Update 2: so apart from not giving straight answers about his agenda, our Harry has threatened me for “moral infringement” (whatever that is) without checking the facts first. Now, I don’t know whether to laugh or to cry. I mean, aren’t you supposed to sent a letter of demand through registered mail? What makes you so sure that I’ll read your blog? Or are you that vain to think that everybody does? Update 1: that’s fast! Poor Harry retaliated so quickly, although he’s also revealed that he himself could not stand his own bitter medicine of censorship and distorting the truth. Now you know what it feels like. ========================================================= P/S: I won’t be surprised if there’s a why-larry-will-fail.com or larry-sucks.com website soon. :p Have a great weekend everyone!
