Business.com is one of the most established web directory on the Internet that is highly recommended by SEOs. It is my favourite directory because unlike BOTW or Yahoo (it’s virtually impossible to get listed in DMOZ), the inner pages have high PageRank and there aren’t that many outgoing links on each page. But hours after submitting a new listing yesterday, it looks to me like Business.com revamped their site and all my listings are completely GONE! (more…)

It looks like the battle for the top Malaysian property classifieds just went up a notch with the entry of HomeGuru Malaysia. The big news that came out from Google last week was unquestionably it’s algorithm update to demote low-quality websites, specifically Content Farms. According to Google’s official blog, the algo change would impact 12% of its search queries - that’s quite a significant percentage! (more…)

Look at the link in the Facebook ad above - it’s quite clear that the advertiser has intentionally used “maybank2u.com.my” to fool FB users into believing that the ad is really from Maybank. However, if you clicked on the ad you will be redirected to this site instead… (more…)

The biggest news that came out of Google this week has to be the appointment of Larry Page as the new CEO of Google. Eric Schmidt, who has been helming Google for the past 10 years, will now play an advisory role as the Executive Chairman of the company. The major management shakeup is timely, as Facebook and Apple are increasingly becoming a growing threat to their business.
